  • Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) "News from National," [now called CIPS Connection.] CIPS is the official non-profit accreditation/certification body for the computing profession here in Canada. Members include directors/managers/representatives from government organizations, colleges and universities, corporations, resellers, and VARs. CIPS is the decision making body for the IT profession. CIPS initiated a number of special programs for students considering a career in computing. CIPS sponsors a number of awards for computing companies, computing professionals and students. The ISP (Information Systems Professional) designation, much like the CA for the accounting profession, is a product of CIPS.

  • Computer Wholesaler Magazine (CCW). The CCW audience consists of resellers, wholesalers, VARs, consultants, computing professionals, and educators. Readers want tangible information that can contribute to their growth in the marketplace. CCW is marketed as the journal with a technical focus for the reseller and consultant marketplace. CCW sponsors an award for those who have made significant contributions to the computing industry.

  • Business to Business Magazine. This publication has an international audience consisting of small to large businesses. The readership looks to tips and strategies for using technology for the short and long term to help in their businesses.

  • Other publications such as BC Business,  Business Examiner,  Canadian Office Products Association (COPA)'s magazine Conversation, Connection, Penticton Herald ...etc. Again, a business focus. What can you do for me? How can you help my business?

  • SQL Server Update Journal, MQ Update Journal, NT Update Journal. These journals have a technical focus and an international audience. The London England-based journals are published by Xephon. See Xephon Books
     
  • HiTec Career Journal by Brassring. This publication appeared in both hard copy (magazine) form and on their web site. The publication provided analysis of training resources and career recommendations. Stephen was both a guest contributor and also was interviewed an an IT expert.
