1. Awarded Gary Hadford Professional Achievement Award by the Canadian Information Processing Society, 2001:

    Nominations were based upon members "recognized by their peers for their integrity and expertise, for their outstanding achievements in fields related to information processing, and who have a high degree of competence in their field." The award citation comments on: Stephen Ibaraki, I.S.P. is recognized for his knowledge, skill and experience to the IT industry as a writer, researcher, consultant, and advisor to the media.

     
  2. Inducted into the Canadian IT Hall of Fame, 2001 due to Stephen being a recipient of the professional achievement award:

    "The CIPS Hall of Fame was created in 1997 to honour those people who have made an outstanding contribution to the Canadian Information Processing Society and the Canadian IT Profession as a whole. This is a first class group of individuals and corporations who must be recognized for all of the extra time, energy and commitment they have devoted to their profession." [Note: Stephen Ibaraki was inducted and honoured at the Annual INFORMATICS Conference as the recipient of the Gary Hadford CIPS Award of Achievement.]
