- INFORMATICS: CIPS's premier educational event of
the year is taking place in Victoria, British Columbia from May 28 to
30, 2006.
- Top Honours: CIPS National Board member Stephen Ibaraki I.S.P. has recently
been awarded with three top honours: the Lifetime Achievement Award; the
Most Valuable Professional Award; and the Distinguished Fellow Award.
- Alberta Medal: Long time CIPS member Donald Smillie
I.S.P. was awarded the Centennial Medal by the Government of Alberta at
a special ceremony on December 14, 2005.
- Member Benefit: CIPS members now have the opportunity to be part of a special
Windows Vista beta program known as the "Community Technology
Preview."
- Fee Increase: Due to rising costs, the CIPS National Board recently approved a
ten dollar fee increase for CIPS membership.
- New I.S.P. Holders: CIPS would like to congratulate the latest
recipients of the Information Systems Professional of Canada
designation.
- IT Business: CIPS Members (who have not already subscribed) have the
opportunity to receive a special, CIPS edition of the IT Business.ca e-newsletter.
- IT Financial: CIPS members are entitled to a 15% discount off the
International Quality and Productivity Centre's IT Financial Management
Week conference to be held from February 28 to March 1, 2006 in Toronto.
