Stephen Ibaraki, ISP, is an award-winning educator,
researcher, writer, speaker, industry analyst, and IT
professional who has been working with computing technology
for more than 35 years. The NPA, the global voice of the
networking industry, in cooperation with Networld+Interop
Las Vegas, Network World magazine, and Network Computing
magazine, awarded Stephen Ibaraki the inaugural 2002 Career
Achievement Award, the highest award for outstanding
achievements and professionalism in the industry. In 2001,
the non-profit Canadian Information Processing Society
(CIPS), presented Stephen with the prestigious Gary Hadford
Professional Achievement Award, the highest of IT awards,
for his "integrity and expertise," and "outstanding
achievements in fields related to information processing,"
and "for his knowledge, skill and experience to the IT
industry as a writer, researcher, consultant, and advisor to
the media." Concurrently, he was inducted into the IT Hall
of Fame for his outstanding contributions to information
processing and the IT industry. In addition, Stephen is a
CIPS expert for media requests in more than 50 areas of
information technology and his interviews with distinguished
international business and IT professionals and
world-renowned experts appear bi-weekly in CIPS Connection.
Other awards and recognitions include: - The "IT Hero Award"
for "the adoption of new technology to solve
problems…vision, courage, and tenacity to introduce a new
innovation" presented by Industry Canada and the Information
Technology Association of Canada, representing the top 1300
corporations in computing, telecommunications, software,
services, and electronic content. - The "All Star Team
Award" for overall IT excellence presented by Datatech
Systems, at that time, the largest IT outsourcing, field
service, mini/micro OEM, and research company. - Selection
as one of the top writers in science and technology by the
Western Magazine Foundation. - Multiple teaching awards and
commendations for IT excellence. - And multiple selections
as a finalist for Career Achievement Awards from a variety
of prestigious organizations. Too numerous to list, Stephen
has been profiled and interviewed as an international IT
expert for his work by top newspapers, magazines,
organizations and corporations, and he has served as a
certification exam author. In addition, he has authored
research consultancy reports, and articles distributed to
more than 10,000 enterprises worldwide. Due to his unique

biennial 2002 World Computing Congress which had
representation from all major research institutions and IT
