Specially designated and selected as the only, "Official IP," consultant to more than 3000 corporations and the trade organization for the entire office products industry providing business, strategic, business models, tactical, marketing, operational, value chain, and technical advisory services. In 1985, Stephen Ibaraki was chosen nationally to speak at the Canadian Office Products Association (COPA) Trade Show held at the Westin in Calgary. Subsequently, Stephen was chosen to be the official IP consultant for COPA and their member corporations with the highest of recommendations. Due to the value of his services, he was awarded the highest consultancy rate ever given out as the official IP consultant for the Association. Stephen Ibaraki helped transition the group into new business strategies for marketing and servicing the latest technologies. Together with advising their member corporations, Stephen Ibaraki contributed articles to their COPA Conversation magazine with its international readership, and he was requested to speak throughout Canada at their trade shows and to their member corporations. Stephen Ibaraki was chosen as official advisor/consultant to their members. In addition, he authored a several hundred page strategic planning, business, operations, marketing, research, and technical consultancy book/guide published by COPA and distributed to their member corporations by the Trade Association. Included in the guide was a 10-year roadmap of upcoming innovations in all facets of Information Technology such as processors, memory, interfaces, storage, printers, peripherals, communications equipment, networking, PCs, large systems, operating systems, application software, power equipment, and so on categorized in more than 50 areas. The analysis allowed the industry to strategically plan for upcoming trends.

  • Stephen Ibaraki, initiates and now manages the Culminis [now Global IT Community Association (GITGA)] MS Exchange Support Network portal for the international Network Professional Association as a member benefit. The NPA Vancouver CESN portal contains technical and product resources for Microsoft Exchange.

  • In November, 2005, Stephen is interviewed for the iQ publication from Cisco where he speaks about best practices for attracting, hiring and retaining IT professionals.

  • Beginning in 2005, Stephen is serving as an international mentor for the Microsoft IT Academy program where he is helping "students during their early IT experience" and supporting a life-long learning model of continuous improvement and career development". Together with technology, discussions, include job strategies, job opportunities, alternative professional paths; best practices in professional and teaching experiences; networking and user group activities; guidance, and encouragement. Moreover this role is extended to college / university faculty members worldwide by providing support and assistance, and giving advice on business and new technologies.

  • Because of the value, service, and community outreach provided to IT Leaders, Stephen accepted an invitation to co-host a web log with Microsoft serving a world-IT view for IT managers with a launch date of December 2005. The web log provides dynamic commentaries, text and audio interviews (podcasts), with video and web casts planned for the future.

  • Stephen is serving on the Advisory Board for the Prithvi Institute, a registered and established NGO working at the grass-roots level in India for the empowerment of people, and rural economic development in 300 villages. In addition Stephen is providing funding support for this important group and the iGEN executive lead by CTO Derek Wallace is contributing web expertise.

  • As an acknowledged international expert in business and IT, Stephen Ibaraki has been asked for annual predictions from noted business and IT authority, and publisher, Mitchell Levy. See article on 2006 Trends. In 2003, Stephen contributed predictions, out of which two were selected from an elite group of top-ranking global experts. In 2005, Stephen contributed 3 detailed and in-depth predictions, of which all three were selected for publication in the book, Happy About Knowing what to expect in 2006.   • In 2005, Stephen Ibaraki was recognized by the International Network Professional Association (NPA) to be an international "Distinguished Fellow", due to his:.

  • In 2005, Stephen Ibaraki was the first professional awarded the "new and updated" CNP (Certified Network Professional) designation from the NPA.

  • Stephen Ibaraki is a Microsoft Certified Professional Hall of Fame nominee finalist.
    On June 20, 2005, received notification from a leading Windows IT Pro magazine: “Congratulations! You have been selected as one of the top 5 candidates for the MCP Hall of Fame…” They requested a quote.   • July, 2005, Stephen Ibaraki appointed to the Editorial Board of CaC Publications and will also contribute as a writer.

  • In 2005, Stephen Ibaraki's work was cited alongside Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web and the current director of the World Web Consortium (W3C), in a paper on the Semantic Web by the Boeing Phantom Works for the W3C.
